Jordan Essentials MLM Review

Intro.

You’ve considered the idea of making money in your spare time by joining a multi level marketing company, as you’ve heard it sounds pretty easy right. Well, you need to take a few things into consideration before determining whether the opportunity presenting itself is actually that good.

Jordan Essentials is a multi level marketing company that sells skincare products, in particular, natural ingredient skincare. With this in mind, can you make money as a Jordan Essentials consultant in your leisure time, or is it just not worth the effort? I’ll give you some idea of what to expect in this review.

Update: As a brief update to this article, I just wanted to alert you to the current social impacts that affect MLM opportunities. Multilevel marketing consultants primarily work by hosting house parties to present and demonstrate products to potential customers. As social distancing has become apparent, these hosted house parties or events can no longer go ahead.

Instead, companies with MLM opportunities are turning to sales online to keep their consultants active. What's ironic about this, is that they are basically turning it into an affiliate marketing venture. However, consultants will only be allowed to sell the products of the MLM company they are involved with.

So, the choice now is owning a website and only selling one companies products, or own a website and sell any products you like (eg: traditional affiliate marketing). I know what I'd be choosing!

In fact, in most cases, the MLM company will still own the website. I've seen instances where they will give it to you free for 3 months, then you have to pay for it. eg: domain & hosting fees. This will be on top of other MLM fees. This is not the case with genuine affiliate marketing, where YOU own your own website.

Jordan Essentials Summary

Product Name: Jordan EssentialsJordan Essentials Consultant

Founder: Nancy Bogart

Price: $49 Minimum

What is Jordan Essentials

Not always known as Jordan Essentials, Country Bunny Bath and Body was founded in the year 2000, the origins of what you see today as Jordan Essentials. Nancy Bogart and her husband Ron started this family affair, which has grown into a much larger organization.

They began their company in Nixa, Missouri, and Nancy has been labelled one of the top 20 most influential women of Southwest Missouri.

Jordan Essentials are known for their body and skincare range, and claim their products have fewer unhealthy chemicals than most of their competitors. The main focus of the company is to provide safe skin care solutions and to feel good about providing for your family.

So, where does that leave you if you want to become a Jordan Essentials consultant? Firstly, let’s take a look at what you’ll be selling.

Are Jordan Essentials Products Worth The Price

The product line at Jordan Essentials basically comprises skincare and similar related items. Their main categories are:

  • Bathe & Body
  • Face Care & Anti Aging
  • Fragrance
  • Joyful Jordan & CAP Packs
  • Sales, Limited Edition & Specials
  • Essential Oils & Healthy Home
  • Mineral Makeup
  • Holiday

Many of their products overlap categories, but that’s okay.

Do I think their products are overpriced? No, not at all. Most Jordan Essentials products are in the price category that they ought to be, so I don’t have a problem with this at all. I’ve reviewed other MLM programs where products cost way more than they should.

There’s also a big push towards products that are free from specific chemicals that are possibly not good for you. Jordan Essentials products advertise this lack of dangerous elements, just like the one below.

Jordan Essentials Products

Take note that the product above is $18 per bottle, not for the 3 bottles shown.

It seems that the majority of people are quite happy with the quality of product that Jordan Essentials creates, which is a positive. From the reviews I read, it seems only the MLM business side of things is what let’s them down, but that’s not unusual.

The main focus of the products that Jordan Essentials sells are in the Bath & Body side of things. In recent times though, they’ve branched out into their oils and healthy home products.

The Jordan Essentials MLM Opportunity

Signing up to Jordan Essentials is simple, and when doing so you can see what it’s going to cost you. The first step is to fill out your personal information, along with your sponsor’s name.

Fill out your contact details and the starter kit you’d like to begin with. Of course, you’ll be presented with a couple of other kits that you may want to purchase.

Jordan Essentials Consultant Additional Costs

Enter your payment method, gift certificates or coupon codes and a shipping method. You also have the chance to enter a name for a website, which you will be given free for the first 3 months ($12.95 per month thereafter).

Once you’ve completed your order, you should be set to go.

So now you’ve joined, the hard work starts. But let’s go over those costs to get started.

How Much Does it Cost to Join Jordan Essentials?

To start your Jordan Essentials account, you will need the necessary starter kit. There are two options available, the $49 or $99 versions.

Jordan Essentials Consultant Kits

As I stated above, you’ll have an option to purchase the Essential Oils collection for an additional $85, and/or the Herbal Roll on Support Blend Collection for $85.

Then there’s the website, which will cost nothing initially, but $12.95 per month later down the track.

When you initially signup, you will also have to pay a shipping and handling fee, country specific fees & sales tax. These are all listed before you pay anything.

Different Ways to Earn

There’s several ways in which you can earn money through being a Jordan Essentials consultant.

  • Commissions on sales (25% base, up to 35%)
  • Residual commissions from your downline (5% base, up to 12%)
  • Bonuses for higher leadership positions
  • Rewards for helping your sponsons

Note that when you begin your journey with this company, you’ll be on the base rate until you earn the desired limits required. This is also when you’ll have the chance to reach higher levels. To earn 30% commission on sales, you need to make $1,500 worth of sales volume within a month, and $3,000 to earn 35%.

Jordan Essentials Consultant Commissions

As a general example, a 25% commission on an $18 bottle like the one I pointed out earlier, will net you $4.50. Some of the packages and more expensive products are in the $50 range, so the 25% will net you $12.50 per sale.

The main purpose of the MLM business model is to earn from those in your downline. So if you take the 5% on that $18 item mentioned earlier, you’ll receive $0.90c, and $2.50 from a $50 sale.

As you can see, you’d want to be generating a fair amount of sales to make hosting parties actually worth your while.

What is Involved in Selling Jordan Essentials?

Traditional MLM’s, of which Jordan Essentials is one, encourage sales by hosting house parties. This is the most common form of obtaining sales, but it’s not the only way.

Larger events can also be organised, and obviously more sales can be made if word gets around. However, there are a few downsides, and I’ll get to those shortly.

More recently, sales through online methods have been advised. As I mentioned earlier, for a monthly fee, you’ll get a Jordan Essentials hosted website that you can use to sell their products.

The Online MLM Sales Model

I do like the online method of getting sales, but there’s a few downsides to the MLM version of online sales. This from the Jordan Essentials Policies & Procedures page.

Jordan Essentials Consultant Website

Here’s just a few issues you may want to think about:

  1. You really only get a one page site that will be directed to the Jordan Essentials products. Although they say YOU are responsible for the content of the page, you are not in control of the site itself. This means you can only promote Jordan Essentials products.
  2. Because you’re only given a homepage, it will be extremely difficult to rank this page in Google and other search engines. SEO is what drives rankings, and you may not have the ability to add these details to your homepage.
  3. Why would somebody buy from your website, and not the official Jordan Essentials site directly. After all, the official website will be ranking much higher than yours.
  4. They state that this is a replicated website, which means it will look exactly the same as everyone else’s. What will make yours stand out from all the others!

Yes, online sales are a great way to go, but the limitations that MLM companies will put on your site will restrict the amount you can make. This is where the affiliate marketing business model is so much more flexible.

Profiting From MLM's Are No Longer Viable

A Different Model Of Income Can Earn You Thousand$ Monthly

Pros

Sponsor Support

Having read through the Policies and Procedures, I like that any sponsor that recruits a new consultant must provide support to the newbie. This from their policies statement ‘When you sponsor your first person you are entering the leadership process’. This includes phone or email support, education and attending their house parties.

Quality Products

Zero or minimal chemical related products are more popular these days, and Jordan Essentials claim they are committed to natural, nontoxic ingredients. I haven’t come across poor reviews of their products, and they are reasonably priced.

Impressive Credentials

Nancy Bogart started this as a family business and has seen it grow into a larger corporation today. She’s been featured in national and local press coverage, including the Today Show, Fortune Magazine and Oprah Magazine.

Cons

Pay All Your Own Expenses

Like any typical MLM company, your expenses are not generally covered. Any house party expenses or gas to get to locations will be at your expense. This will need to be recouped before making any profit.

False Income Claims

Again, like most MLM companies, their sales page and Facebook page provides income claims that are far beyond reasonable. Having researched Jordan Essentials to see how they have advertised their program, I unearthed their income claims database through TruthInAdvertising.

Hassling Friends & Family First

Obviously you need to make sales, and the first place of call will be your friends and family. This is fine, and they’ll usually buy first time around. But this will wane, and they will lose interest in turning up to your events.

The hard work comes after this initial period, when you need to find new contacts. What usually happens, is that you’ve been invited to join this MLM from one of your friends or family in the first place. So the chances are that your circle of friends may have already been sold to.

This is where you’ll find that social circles overlap, and it’s more difficult to find people that have not experienced the Jordan Essentials products that you’re attempting to sell.

Online Limitations

The online side of things may be a good idea from the outside, but when you understand that you’re limited to selling only one range of products, it becomes apparent that you may as well own your own website and sell whatever you like.

The homepage you’ll be given will have limitations and also be hard to rank. You will find that anyone wanting to buy online will go direct to the official JE website.

Chances of Success

I have no doubt that some people will have had some success as a Jordan Essentials consultant, but I don’t believe this to be the case with most. Generally, multi level marketing has a small success rate, with experts suggesting the failure rate is anywhere between 73% (PRNewswire) and even higher.

While the MLM business model has been around for many years now, it’s one that focuses on those at the top of the chain to make the most money. Hence the popularity for companies to deal this way.

Many people are discouraged early on as they only make 5% of any team members they recruit. It usually takes a long time to reach the required earnings to progress to the better percentage rates. This is the biggest reason most people quit an MLM within the first 6 months.

Final Thoughts

In my opinion, MLM opportunities have not always been the best business model to enter into. I like that Jordan Essentials promotes the use of a website, but their version of this is not worth much.

You’d be better off creating your own website and selling any products you like. For instance, create a website that promotes beauty products, join all kinds of affiliate programs and promote their products. They will all offer you a better commission, and if a customer is referred to their store by you, you will earn commissions on anything they buy on that visit.

I mentioned previously that ranking is required to have success being found on Google etc, so learn how to do this. Here’s where you can learn to start an affiliate marketing website from scratch.

Another point to keep in mind, is that with the current situation of social distancing, MLM consultants can no longer organize house parties. This is a huge dilemma, and will only push more people to affiliate marketing, because more people are purchasing online.

If you’d like to learn how to do this, I can help you. Here’s where you need to begin.

Like many people, I struggled in my early attempts to make money online. It's really frustrating when you try product after product, searching for that elusive opportunity that is really genuine.

Eventually though, I learned how to achieve success in the online world with my own website. This website was created to show others how to do it. I direct people away from the poor opportunities and advise the good ones.

But the simplest and least complicated is [Learn more...]
