What is Paycate

Paycate is just another pop up website that has been cloned from similar sites. Here’s what they claim to provide as their business case.

You’ll be presented with an opportunity to complete tasks that Paycate will provide you with, each offering a monetary value. This is usually in the vicinity of $1, which you can imagine will add up rather quickly if you spend all day on it.

Paycate will suggest you work 2-3 hours per day, and can earn you up to $3,000 per month.

The other incentive that Paycate has, is to refer others to their site. You’ll be offered a tiered commission for each referral you direct to Paycate. If you have a large network of friends, then this may sound ideal to earn a few dollars. I’d urge you not to do this though, as you’ll discover shortly.

So, it all sounds pretty simple right. Well, let’s take a closer look and see what’s really going to happen should you enter into the Paycate system.

How Does Paycate Work

IT DOESN’T!

Paycate will say they pay you, but they don’t. So let’s take a look at what the whole intention is behind this scam.

What do the owners of Paycate want from you? They want your personal information. Not only that, they want your friends and family’s personal information. This is why they have a referral system.

You’ll be given a link code when you create an account. You will be encouraged to share this code over your social media channels to get others to sign up with Paycate. By distributing your link over social media, or via SMS which they’ll also suggest, you will inadvertently be getting your friends to sign up to this scam.

The owners can use your personal information for a multitude of purposes. I’m not going to go into detail about what they could do with your information in this post. However, I’ve recently reviewed WeeklyHourJob, in which I do detail some of the options.

Speaking of WeeklyHourJob, I believe the owners of Paycate are also the owners of WeeklyHourJob. What makes me think this? Because some of the information is a direct replica.

And it’s not just WeeklyHourJob that is similar. If you check out my WeeklyHourJob review, I have a list of other domains that have been cloned. The Paycate front page may look different, but the comments page is identical.

Some Legitimate Concerns

Take a look at some of these aspects which surely indicates that any professionalism is not quite there.

No legal Links

This is a typical red flag that indicates there is nothing legal about this website. At the very least, you should be providing a Privacy Policy. If you look at the base of my website, I provide a Privacy Policy as its standard practice for any affiliate blogger. So imagine how much more important it would be for a company providing commissions to people.

Other legal links Paycate should be providing are Terms and Conditions or an Income Disclaimer. None of these are displayed which suggests not all is legitimate.

Poor Grammar

Don’t you think that if you’re offering this kind of service, that you’d spell check everything first? The poor grammar that is placed on the front page of Paycate leaves a lot to be desired.

Any ethical company worth their weight would be getting a proof reader to make sure the wording is understood. While this doesn’t directly point to this site being a scam, accumulated with the other red flags, it does not make for a good experience.

Cloned Pages

Just take a look at the contact page. The following snippet was taken from Paycate, which is exactly the same as the image below which was taken from WeeklyHourJob.

Even the names of the people asking questions are cloned, they could have at least modified some names to put us off their trail!

Not Found Links

Need to check their FAQ page because you have a query? Nope, this link goes to nowhere. You’ll find a message that states that the page cannot be found.

Is Paycate a Scam Not Found

Again, don’t you think a four page website should show all four pages. Very unprofessional.

My Verdict

I’m sure by now you get the picture. Paycate is just like many other repeat websites that are after your personal information. They will not pay you for referring others. How can they, Paycate don’t make any money from referrals as it’s free to sign up.

So don’t waste your time with this scam.

You’re likely reading this review because you’re searching for a way to make money online. I used to be in your shoes, looking for a legitimate opportunity that could not only make me a few dollars, but get me out of my office job.

I’m here to tell you, it can be done. But I’m also going to give you the truth. There is no silver bullet that will allow you to make money online with little work. There are no systems that will bring in money on autopilot.

Having said that, there’s several options to make money that anyone can take up and learn. In my opinion, the easiest is affiliate marketing. Other alternatives are selling products on Amazon or setting up an eCommerce drop shipping store. These are all options that can bring in an equivalent full time income, but there’s minor options also.

Joining a program that pays for completing surveys and tasks can bring in a few dollars each month. A legitimate program offering this, is Qmee. In my opinion, you earn so little from sites like Qmee that it’s just not worth the time invested. I’d be putting that energy into a money making blog.

Wrapping Up

In summing up, I’d urge you to be careful about the programs that you consider signing up to in future. While we’d like to think they are all genuine and have good intentions, this is not always the case.

Some programs are more interested in capturing your personal data for unscrupulous purposes. Paycate is one of those.

Like many people, I struggled in my early attempts to make money online. It's really frustrating when you try product after product, searching for that elusive opportunity that is really genuine.

Eventually though, I learned how to achieve success in the online world with my own website. This website was created to show others how to do it. I direct people away from the poor opportunities and advise the good ones.
