Every year we hear the latest New Years resolutions, many of which have been regurgitated in various ways. The losing weight resolution being the most popular, but which fad diet is next best to lose those pounds.

But first, I’m NOT going to tell you this will make you millions, or take you 2 months to become successful. This is a legitimate online business that requires your input. But once you have a foundation in place and visitors are regularly coming to your website, you’ll have tapped into an endless stream of income.

This online business opportunity is affiliate marketing, and there’s no better time to begin than now. Think about it! How many people are purchasing products online? Hundreds of millions are, and trillions of dollars are changing hands.

Firstly, if you think a few weeks of eagerness is going to get you riches, you’ll need to work on a different mindset. There’s many scams out there that are willing to offer you a set figure within a set period. Do NOT believe them.

Programs like Best Cash Job are all over the web, attempting to lure you in to paying them, for earnings in return. Some offer you a standard website so make wealth, these don’t work as they are generic websites with copied documentation. These can get banned by Google for displaying duplicate content. My advice, keep well away from these.

That’s not really a lot to ask is it. Most people either have these qualities, or they can be learned. To be honest, I lacked these in the beginning. But through failure, determination and persistence, I succeeded. It’s all about having the correct mindset. Keeping motivation for a website build can be difficult at times, especially when the results are not coming in the first few months. Don’t be one of those to give up, the rewards will come with persistence.

Imagine the idea of waking up each morning knowing you don’t HAVE TO commute to the office for a job you are not interested about. You don’t HAVE TO work on that building site that gives you back pain. You can instead, open up your laptop and write an article related to your niche and upload it to your online business website.

In fact you may even choose to set up a travel blog and write about your travels. This can fund your adventures if you build a foundation before you leave.

Working around your passion is more enjoyable, and the internet can now offer you the chance to make money from exactly this. You may now be thinking, how am I going to make money by selling products I don’t own!

5. Visitor to your website clicks on affiliate link
6. This visitor is taken to the merchants website
7. IF the visitor make a purchase, YOU make a commission

So basically, the more sales you make by sending visitors to the merchants website, the more commissions you’ll make.

These commissions can vary based on a percentage or set value from a sale item or service. Some more expensive services can earn you more money, even on a lesser percentage.

For instance, say you promote yacht charters. These can be very lucrative even though the percentage may only be 5%. The purchase value may be in the thousands of dollars, 5% of 2k will net you $100 for one sale. If you have 100 articles or more, with advice about yacht charters, that’s a lot of promotional activity ranked in search engines.

Multiple articles will give you the best chance for more sales. The more ranked articles you have that can generate links to your affiliate products, the more opportunities there are for the merchants to make a sale. You are working in partnership with these companies.

Remember, these merchant companies need you as much as you need them. This is a win-win situation where the visitor is happy making a purchase, the merchant gets a sale and you make a commission.
