I’ve recently been alerted to a product that’s come onto the online market called the “Silk Road Effect”. It promises to give you everything that will allow you to earn in excess of $1800 per day. That’s a very big claim, and I’ll imagine you want to know if it’s really achievable.

With so many illegitimate products about, it makes sense to do some research into any product, so I applaud you for doing so. The are some helpful products out there, but also many frauds willing to scam you out of your hard earned money. So lets dive into the Silk Road Effect product and see what it’s all about.

What is The Silk Road Effect

The message behind the Silk Road Effect is from a bygone era. Whoever is the owner or founder of this product, is using a “brand story” to get you hooked on the idea that you can make lots of money by picking up on a strategy that has been held back for centuries. Apparently, this is “crucial information that has been held back from the public that could enable us to be financially free“. Really!

I’ve reviewed lots of products similar to this, but I don’t think I’ve seen one that uses past history to tap into your imagination. They’re attempting to give you a believable story, that gets you thinking if there’s possibly something that nobody has picked up on. A system that has been overlooked and that you can cash in on.

Unfortunately, it’s a fairytale as opposed to a factual opportunity. This system that apparently has not been utilized in the Western World, is called eCommerce. That’s correct, the same eCommerce that the Western world created.

How Does Silk Road Effect Work

Purchasing the Silk Road Effect product is going to net you a small selection of training, about what a drop shipping eCommerce website involves. That’s’ about the extent of what you’re going to receive. The training involves a few videos and PDF documents that show you what is required to setup an eCommerce store, but doesn’t explain how to achieve the end result.

For instance, you’ll be told that a domain name and Shopify store are needed to begin your online store, but the videos only explore the setup basics, which is not nearly enough information. To add to that, these videos are basic slide shows that are narrated, rather than a walk-through a hands on approach.

As you can see in the image below, you’ll see 7 tabs, each containing only one or two videos. This is not nearly enough training to setup an eCommerce store.

There’s a fair amount of dictation in the course, just like in the Silk Road Effect sales video. But this just raises more questions than answers. You’ll be told of various eCommerce options, different paths you can take, but doesn’t explain how to take these paths. It’s fine to tell people what to do, it’s another thing to not give them the answers.

I’ve gone down the drop shipping eCommerce road myself, and understand exactly how it’s done. It’s certainly not for everyone, because there is a fair amount of time and expense involved before any money can be made.

Will You See Results With Silk Road Effect

This is a loaded question as there are different levels of application. If you just take the advice in this course by going elsewhere to do your own research and purchase the various tools and resources required to have a store setup, no, I still doubt you’ll see results with The Silk Road Effect.

The reason I say this is because of website traffic. If you cannot get people to see your website and promotions, there is no chance of getting any sales. There’s 3 main methods of getting website traffic.

• Paid advertising
• Organic SEO traffic
• Social Media

So unless you have these 3 forms of traffic coming to your eCommerce website, you will not make any sales. Obviously, paid advertising is going to costs you more money. There’s also a steep learning curve in targeting the correct people in your advertising campaigns. If you get this wrong, you could waste a lot of money.

Social media can also be a great traffic source, but you’ll need a large following for anyone to see your promotions.

My favorite form of traffic, is free organic traffic. This is where you use SEO techniques to rank your articles and promotions in the search engines, such as Google. This is achievable, but takes a fair amount of time and training. If you’ve never heard of keyword research, you’ll have a very hard time ranking highly.

Google doesn’t just hand out high rankings to anyone, your website needs to become an authority, which partly comes with age.

So considering these points, in my opinion, you can’t possibly get sales with this simple $17 product.

Now, About The Upsells

You don’t really think that the owners behind the Silk Road Effect are going to make enough money from $17 sales do you? Once you make a purchase of this product, you’ll be offered upsells. This is where the owners really make their money. You see, for each upsell they make, these guys make commissions or large profits. Let’s look at the Upsells in Silk Road Effect.

Upsell 1: Shopify ($29 – $299 per month) – As the name suggests, this is where you’ll sign up to Shopify, if this is where you want your storefront hosted. This is a necessity, so you will be required to do this. Just so as you know, you’ll be signing up through the Silk Road Effect affiliate link. You won’t be paying any more to sign up through their affiliate link, so there’s no problem there.

Upsell 2: The Silk Road Effect Deluxe Club ($197) – This is an expensive way of getting 2 PDF guides with different purposes. These two guides are:

• Amazon Affiliate Blueprint – A tutorial on selling products on Amazon, which can be purchased much cheaper directly through Amazon.
• Shopify Secrets – A guide to setting up Shopify and offering some tips. These secrets can all be found on YouTube or Google.

Upsell 3: Marco Polo Secret ($197) – Apparently you’re going to get a “secret hack” that will show you how to earn up to $500,000 in 30 days. I don’t believe any guide can claim to help you do this, but here’s what they’re going to give you.

• Marco Polo Secret Videos – Learn about persuasive writing, drop shipping, product sourcing and the art of finding partners.
• Marco Polo Secret – You’ll get a drop shipping cheat-sheet, mindmap and secret PDF on drop shipping.
• Bitcoin Secrets – Why on earth you need a cryptocurrency informational PDF is beyond me, but this is part of the Marco Polo Secret upsell.

These upsells are brief snippets of information that can all be found elsewhere for much less. In my opinion, they are not worth the money.

Huge Claims

The main monetary claim in the sales video is just not reasonable or achievable. To be making $34,000 per month with this brief training product is just BS.

Anyone can have an image like this made up, which is totally un-achievable, and very misleading to unsuspecting people looking for a new opportunity. The sales video also goes on to say “it allows me to earn up to $2362 each day“. Why do they use such a specific figure? Because it sounds more authentic by doing this.

It also get’s into the mind to make you think, “if I only make 10% of that, it’s still pretty good“. However, I don’t believe you’ll even make 1% of this figure.

My Verdict

My opinion of the Silk Road Effect, is that this is a misleading product that will not live up to the claims made on their sales page. In fact I don’t believe you’ll get anywhere near the results they claim you will.

Is the Silk Road Effect a scam? I’ll let you decide whether it is or not, based on the correct information I’ve provided here. I certainly wouldn’t be recommending this product to my audience, having understood what it’s all about.

You would have it invest in other areas other than just this product, if you intend to be a success at eCommerce. This is a field that requires hard work to succeed, so if you’re searching for a product that can help you earn money quickly, you won’t find it here. Actually, there is no such program that can allow you to earn thousands of dollars with little effort. So stop looking for that needle, and start thinking about a sustainable solution.

You would have landed on this page because you’re looking for a way to make money on the internet. Get rich schemes like this never produce the expected results they claim to make.

It is possible to make money online, but you may have to change your mindset from making it quickly, to making money within a reasonable time-frame. By this I mean that nobody can press a few buttons, trigger a 3 step process and start earning money online immediately. It doesn’t work like that.

Any online venture, whether it be selling on Amazon, creating a drop shipping eCommerce store or an affiliate marketing site, requires an incubation period. A set span of time to build a foundation for an online business to thrive. Time for you to plan out how your online venture will create wealth, and assess the validity of what you are trying to achieve.

An internet business is absolutely possible, but I’d urge you to get a good education to help you. You really don’t want to be shooting in the dark because this is wasting time. I’ve done this myself and wasted years because I didn’t have the correct knowledge. This was until I found a course the could help me learn the affiliate marketing model.
